Today I want to begin this series on guidelines of thegame by getting you to change the way you think about your life. I’m not assuring that you’ll have some sort of life-altering epiphany, but if you can stick with me through this and future post, you’re going to see some changes. After all,you can’t bend the guidelines to your advantage until you know what they are!
What is a guideline?
Before we start, let me cover a few basic concepts and principles.
What is a guideline? Well,a rule is basically a broad classification of beliefs that specify how somebody believes the world runs. The keyword here is “believes.”.
The majority of the time, individuals are operating on rules that they set on their own without even understanding it.
Rules You Think Exist
What are some rules you might subconsciously follow? Well,in my profession and the individuals I’ve interacted with,I’ve discovered these to be super common:
· You require to work more to make more money.
· If you are a hard worker, your work will be rewarded.
· You need to go to school to get an excellent task.
· The federal government will take care of you in retirement.
Want to know a common thing among all of these rules? More times than not, these rules are broken.
In truth, you’re the only one envisioning them, and everybody else is doing just fine without them.

The Other Hand
If these fictional rules do not exist and everybody doesn’t follow them, what’s stopping you from following your own set of guidelines? In fact, guidelines are important; it’s just essential you’re following the right set of guidelines.
Guidelines should be empowering, they must set a standard of conduct for you to follow, they need to have a cause-and-effect relationship with your results, and they should set your procedures and procedures.
